Character name notes

The magical girls are pretty much mostly referred to by their Memoria titles, and while it's easy to understand what those mean without further explanation, their actual full names do pop up every now and then, even if their first names are just mostly uttered by Tiera-chan. Now, that's fine and all, but there is a single issue in that their full names actually have kanji to them! It would have been a little awkward to dedicate a section in the story where I can carefreely explain the kanji of their names, even if they do poke fun at each other's names every now and then...hence why I feel it's necessary to at the very least note them in this little devlog.

First, our lovely  protagonist, the magical girl Viento Memoria, or Ako Akika  (安虎 明風) This follows the last name, first name basis, incidentally....though "Ako-chan" would still sound like a lovely first name. All of the girls have a naming convention where their last name has a kanji for one of the Four Guardian Animals from Chinese mythology... Viento-chan is the tiger 虎, even if she may never see herself as one, but perhaps that may explain why she was born with such heavy black eyeliner... Their first names all have a kanji for their respective element, in this case, , of which is definitely something that partly determined them to be magical girls since birth apparently...

Second, Fuego Memoria, or Suzaki Mubi 朱雀 夢火. 'Suzaki' here is meant to represent, well...the Suzaku! The Vermilion Bird! She's the most straightforward one there lol... The Suzaku is often misidentified with the phoenix, but the two do share fire associations regardless...  "Mubi" is just comprised of the kanji for "dream" and, well, "fire". It's probably the most lovely of the first names amongst the four.

Third, Aqua Memoria, or Ginryuu Ikumi 銀竜 育水. Her's was always my favorite of all their full names...if only because it sounds "cool".  As it may be obvious, she's represented by the dragon 竜 here...but what really takes the spotlight for me is how apparently she's also a silver  dragon!? Ikumi is just comprised of the kanji for "to raise" and "water", as if to give the impression that she is like a baptizing water that raises you... Haha, yeah right.

And last but not least...Tiera-chan, or Kinkame Sachi 金亀 さち . She's meant to be represented by the "tortoise"  of which is apparently gold this time and not black... That being said, the original blackness of said tortoise is still very much present throughout her magical girl outfit! Almost as if the gold was just added on after the fact... Tiera-chan is the only one whose first name isn't actually written out in kanji,  but rather hiragana...because she's just cute like that! Just kidding though, if it were actually spelt in kanji, it'd be as 砂地, which is a word referring to sandy places... Hmm, though given that they do spend time on that beach for a bit, perhaps that may be more fitting for her...? Regardless, the 'chi' 地 is meant to call to mind the earth, and 'sa' 砂 here is actually derived from the same one used in Bishamonten's name 毘門天...just more connecting Tiera-chan's blood to the gods!

As for Bako, well...her name is perhaps complex enough that an explanation of it wouldn't fit here...
